Matariki, Maori New Year
Tomorrow is Matariki, the Maori New Year.
Matariki means 'little eyes', or 'eyes of God' and refers to the seven stars that make up the constellation 'Pleiades'.
Matariki signals new beginnings. A time to reflect and set new goals and share dreams and aspirations for the year ahead.
Room 12 are busy writing their dreams and aspirations to be displayed for the seven stars to shine down on.

· Wednesday 7th March – Whole School Teddy Bears’ Picnic
Bring your favourite Teddy Bear to have lunch with and to play with other Teddies.
· Thursday 8th March – Book Character Dress Up Day
Ø Come dressed as your favourite book character. We will have a school-wide parade at 9.30am.
Ø The children will all sit together to eat their lunch.
Ø In the afternoon we invite parents to bring their favourite story book to share then participate in some outdoor games.
