Matariki, Maori New Year

Tomorrow is Matariki, the Maori New Year.
Matariki  means 'little eyes', or 'eyes of God' and refers to the seven stars that make up the constellation 'Pleiades'.
Matariki signals new beginnings. A time to reflect and set new goals and share dreams and aspirations for the year ahead.

 

Room 12 are busy writing their dreams and aspirations to be displayed for the seven stars to shine down on.

Paint it black day

Tomorrow is paint it black day!

Let's show our support for the All blacks and wear black clothes to school.

It's snowing and the school is closing. Please come and collect your children if you can.

Look at our playground! It's covered in snow!

Keep warm everyone.

If your child has had an upset stomach we ask that they be absent from school for 24 hours before returning. Thank you for your co-operation.

     ·        Wednesday 7^th March – Whole School Teddy Bears’ Picnic

Bring your favourite Teddy Bear to have lunch with and to play with other Teddies.

·        Thursday 8^th March – Book Character Dress Up Day

Ø Come dressed as your favourite book character.  We will have a school-wide parade at 9.30am.

Ø The children will all sit together to eat their lunch.

Ø In the afternoon we invite parents to bring their favourite story book to share then participate in some outdoor games.
