Christmas cookies
Yesterday we went to the Science room and made some cookies. We used lots of ingredients and equipment.
First we put the butter into a bowl.
Then we added sugar and took turns beating them together.
Next we sifted the flour, cocoa powder, cinnamon, mixed spice and baking powder into a bowl.
We mixed the butter and the flour together and made little dough balls. We squashed the dough balls down with our palms and used a cookie cutter to cut out star shapes.
Finally, we iced the cookies and decorated them with dried apricots, walnut pieces, sprinkles and lollies.

Clock game
Room 12 enjoyed
making their own clocks yesterday. Today they played a board game where they had
to read 'digital time' from the board, and then show that time on their
clock.

The screening of 'Good sorts', featuring Marilyn will be on this Sunday during TV one's news at 6pm.

Our outside clock
Here is
Room 12 exploring our outside clock
The clock has a round face with numbers 1 to 12 around the outside. 12 is at the top and 6 is at the bottom.
We needed
a long hand
(the minute hand)and a short hand (the hour
hand).
This clock shows 6 o'clock.
We took
turns to move the hands to show the time. This clock shows 9 o'clock.
We drew a chalk line down half of the clock and explored 'half past'.
This clock shows half past 1.
